Labor Day Tour d'Apple

A series of three bicycle rides ranging from the Green Apple Easy- a 25-mile out-and-back ride - to the Honey Crisp Unbelievable — a 100-miler that passes the county's apple orchards and features a total elevation gain of 8,000 feet in six climbs. For more information email tourdapple@fourseasonsrotary.org. Ride registration will be available through active.com starting in April. An event website, tourdapple.com, is in the works.

August 30 - September 2, 2013 - Labor Day Weekend

Each Labor Day weekend for more than 65 years, locals and visitors celebrate Henderson County's Mountain Heritage by attending the NC Apple Festival in Downtown Hendersonville. The NC Apple Festival and Street Fair covers nine blocks in Downtown Hendersonville's Historic Main Street extending from 6th Avenue to Caswell Street. There are 200 vendors, including arts and crafts and food vendors. Look for 14 apple growers and Hendersonville NC apples, children's and youth activities, special exhibits, open houses, food vendors, and continuous live entertainment. From August 30 - September 2,, 2013, you can enjoy 4 days of fun from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and from 10 a.m. to until after the King Apple Parade. Joines us for one of the best known Street Fairs in the Carolinas with Freshly Picked Apples, Arts & Crafts, Festival Food and FREE Entertainment at the Historic Courthouse on Hendersonville’s Beautiful Main Street.

On Labor Day, folks gather for the King Apple Parade, sponsored by Hunter Subaru, one of the highlights of the NC Apple Festival. The annual parade is a local favorite tradition which includes professional floats, bands, youth groups, antique cars, fire trucks, youth groups, and bands. This year's King Apple Parade wil be held on Monday, September 2, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.
